  Similar to the 2010 vintage, which was relatively one of the warmest, the 2012 vintage continues the tradition of an even-hot and odd-cold vintage. The extreme heat conditions halted sugary ripening, but aromatic ripening and the accumulation of coloring matter in the grapes continued, interestingly resulting in the creation of a black wine with an extraordinary aromatic richness alongside a relatively moderate alcohol content for this wine. The winemaking methods and aging regime in wooden barrels were maintained. The wine expresses the characteristics of the variety with ripe black European plum, black raspberry, florality and prominent fleshy characteristics. Excellent minerality and freshness resulting from the age of the vineyard and the non-irrigated growing methods that result in perfect balance with the exceptional ripeness of the fruit.

  Petite Syrah Mature Vines is at the peak of its strength, depth and complexity of flavors. The wine will best accompany rich and aromatic cheeses, flavorful cuts of goat meat and root vegetable and mushroom dishes.
